The New Age of Keyword Research: Dive into Sage SEO’s AI Capabilities

Sage SEO - AI Keyword Research Assistant exploring the SEO universe

Nowadays, the digital landscape is brimming with mass-produced, soulless content churned out by artificial writers. Genuine article writers find themselves asking, “How can we possibly keep up with this relentless wave of automation?”

The strategy is you don’t have to ‘keep up.’ Instead, focus on outperforming those robots by creating quality content rather than eyeing the quantities they can output.

The market may make online writing harder, but Sage SEO is dedicated to making you more powerful, capable, and efficient. How? We turn AI from your opponent or crutch into a weapon in your arsenal as a writer.

Remember, search engines prioritize ranking high-quality content, and we help you create it. Here, our AI models train themselves on your website data and content, ensuring that the assistance you get from our models is true to your voice, brand, and website.

In this article, we’ll show you how to use Sage SEO’s AI-assisted keyword researcher to help you create optimized, natural, high-ranking articles for your business.

Why is keyword research necessary?

How do you ensure your voice is heard in a vast digital ocean with billions of websites? How do you ensure your carefully crafted content doesn't drown in the masses?

This is where keyword research emerges as your guiding star. Keywords are like the language of search engines – they bridge the gap between what readers are looking for and the content you create. When you align your content with the right keywords, you're sending out a signal saying, "Hey, I have what you're searching for!"

Effective keyword research helps you rank higher in search results and connects you with the people actively seeking the solutions, information, or entertainment you provide. It's not just about increasing traffic; it's about attracting the right kind of traffic – an engaged, interested audience that's more likely to stay, explore, and convert.

Your writing, combined with a strategic selection of keywords, is a recipe for content that resonates, engages, and captivates your target audience. But here's the hitch – traditional keyword research can be time-consuming, ambiguous, and overwhelming. This is where you whip out your Sage SEO AI Keyword Research Tool and blow everyone away.

How to use Sage SEO’s AI Keyword Research Tool

We've felt your frustrations and channeled that empathy into creating a solution designed and tailored to your workflow as a writer. It’s so simple, you could do it in under 5 minutes. Here’s how you get ahead of the competition:

Step 1: Head to app.sageseo.ai and start the keyword research tool

Head to your app.sageseo.ai dashboard and click the ‘Keywords Request’ button on the left side panel.

Then, you’ll see a screen like this. Click on the ‘Keyword Research’ option to start the AI tool.

Step 2: Choose an article title and topic

Next, feed your ingenious article title and topic into the tool. Remember, be as specific as possible to ensure the AI understands your vision for the article.

Step 3: Select or create your target audience

Just like you, our AI needs to know who the targeted readers of the article are going to be to better tailor the keywords and content it produces. You can save audience profiles and apply them to future articles as well! If you’ve never created an audience profile in our Magic Writer, here’s how:

First, select the ‘Create New Audience’ button under the ‘Intended Audience’ menu.

Next, name and describe exactly who your target audience is.

Once you save your audience profile, it’ll always show up as an option for your future creations.

Then, select the target audience profile(s) you’d like the AI to consider and click ‘next.’

Step 4: Identify your audience’s search terms

In the world of SEO and keyword optimization, a focus keyphrase is the primary keyword you want your content to rank for in search engine results. These strategic words or phrases encapsulate what users type into their search bars.

But the unsung heroes are the additional search keyphrases. These bolster your content's visibility by addressing related queries and expanding your content's reach.

The importance of these keyphrases lies in their ability to diversify your content's exposure. By including a mix of main and additional search keyphrases, you not only increase the chances of your content being found but also position yourself as a comprehensive resource that answers multiple aspects of a user's search.

To identify your key phrases, summarize your specific article topic and avoid making it too broad. Make it easy for people to find your article and understand it. Consider prospective readers' queries to find an article to answer their questions.

Step 5: Sit back and relax while Sage SEO cooks your keywords up

Keyword requests can take a while, so in the meantime, explore some of the Magic Writer’s other features! Venture around the dashboard, click on your article, and see if you can find your article’s content brief (hint: click on your article)!

You can also monitor some quick information about your article from the dashboard.

Don’t worry; your keywords will automatically be loaded into the dashboard once they’re ready. Once they are, you have a chance to train your model on the keywords to fit your niche like a puzzle piece.

Step 6: Train your AI assistant by refining keywords

You can view the research report once the AI model has finished producing your keywords. Here, you can monitor the cost-per-click (CPC), search volume (SV), and keyword difficulty (KD) of all the keywords your AI assistant generated for you.

We’ll use an example article with keyword research already completed for demonstration.

Cost per Click (CPC): CPC refers to the amount advertisers are willing to pay for each click on their ad related to a specific keyword, offering insights into the keyword's commercial value and competitiveness.

Search Volume (SV): SV signifies the number of times a particular keyword or phrase is searched for in a given timeframe, serving as a vital metric for SEO keyword research to gauge user interest and potential traffic.

Keyword Difficulty (KD): Keyword difficulty assesses the level of competition associated with a specific keyword, helping SEO practitioners understand how challenging it might be to rank for that keyword in search engine results and guiding strategic keyword selection.

When viewing your research report, you can ‘star’ keywords to save them for all your future articles (gold arrow below). ‘Like’ keywords to tell the AI that they are relevant to your content (left green arrow below), and ‘dislike’ keywords that aren’t (gray arrow).

By doing so, you’re training the AI to tailor its future keyword research reports to relate more closely to your content, audience, and market.

You can also open these keywords directly into our article writer! Click on the “open in Sage Writer’ button in the top right to do so.

Step 7: Write your keywords into your article

In the Sage Writer, you’ll see that your keywords were populated into a sidebar! This way, you can seamlessly refer to them as you write. They will also become highlighted once the writer detects you’ve written them into your work!
